Women's Conference

Hola mis amigos!

This week has been awesome! I just love watching General Conference and hearing what our leaders have to say to help inspire us and lift us up!

Women's Conference was especially fun because we spent the whole week inviting everyone we knew to come and see! I felt like a shepherd during the birth of Jesus Christ or something! We literally just told everyone we knew and met about the wonderful opportunity we would have to hear from the Sisters in Women's Conference and how much it would bless their lives! A woman named Olga and her daughter were able to come and watch and we know it blessed them immensely!

Fun tender mercy during conference was that I saw an old friend performing in the choir! Shout out to miss Rachel Madsen! You looked great, sounded amazing,  and definitely brought the spirit!

I think what stood out the most to me was the need to understand and apply the Doctrine of Jesus Christ in our lives. I know that if we have Faith in our Savior, we can do all things. He has given us the gift of Repentance so that we may overcome our weaknesses, receive forgiveness of our sins, and be worthy to enter into the Father's kingdom again one day. He has shown forth the example of Baptism and has taught us that through that sacred promise we make, we receive a remission of our sins. The Holy Ghost will bring all things to our remembrance and comfort us in our times of trial and heartache. As we do all these things continually, we will be able to endure to the end, or as one of my favorite scriptures says "cheerfully do all things" until we "stand still" and glory in our Father in Heaven.

I want to add my testimony to those that have been borne, and those that will be given in the upcoming General Conferences, that our Savior lives, He has restored His gospel once again to the Earth and our families can be sealed together for time and all eternity because of that restoration.

We are gearing up for a special zone conference before General Conference where we will be singing one of my favorite hymns, "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing." It isn't in our hymnbook, but it's message has always spoken volumes to me.

"Jesus saught me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God. He to rescue me from danger, interposed His precious blood."

I hope you all have the chance to check out conference this weekend!

Love you!

A Week of Wonders

Hola mis Amigos!

This week has been crazy! (But I say that every week)

We had some pretty fun happenings including a baptism and lots of miracles! It has made me so grateful to know that we have a loving Heavenly Father and that He is mindful of us. The restoration of His priesthood power to the earth and a prophet who receives inspiration for the world from Him is so comforting. I know God is truly mindful of us and that He truly answers our prayers.

This week we will have the blessed opportunity to listen to General Women's Conference. A Broadcast from the apostles and the presidency of the Relief Society geared towards women in the church, but that applies to women of all walks of life and all ages. It is one of my favorite times of year because we can receive specific inspiration regarding the next 6 months of our lives. I know I will be going in with a few questions for God, will you? I promise you from personal experience that if you tune in to the broadcast at 8PM EST that God will answer your questions and remind you of the love He has for you. I know that God speaks to His children today and that He loves us more than we can imagine! Don't miss out!

Here are some pictures from my week!
He was going to the Military Ball at school!

Testiminute

We worked hard that night and after AreaBook decided to erase itself, we decided to work even harder the next day! Sometimes, I wish we just had a paper AreaBook....

Thursday - we planned for our week and then I met with the Stake Presidency! That was cool. The spirit was strong and we came away with a lot of action Items. In between our planning and the meeting, Hermana Gucake and I did our best to talk to everyone and ask for referrals from everyone and it turned out to be the most fun I've ever had being a missionary. It has been our goal to improve and to testify to people about the restoration, and it has been so much more fun doing so.

Friday - MLC Metro... we called in all the Zone Leaders, Sister Training Leaders, and District Leaders for some Specialized Training on how to find the prepared and we had way too much fun doing it. We role played testifying early and often and did what I think should be called the testiminute. It was cool because I didn't feel awkward testifying of our savior and it was a lot more fun. I felt happier sharing the message than I have before. Hermana Gucake and I have been implementing it this week!

Saturday - We finally got to meet with Daniel Flores! He will be getting baptized this Saturday and we were able to talk to him about the importance of Praying, Reading his scriptures and going to Church. (CPR) It has been cool to see the change he has been through!

Sunday - Back to the Cortez Branch! No one really remembers me besides the Young Women's President, the Branch President, and two other members, but it was fun! I haven't been to a Spanish Sacrament Meeting since January, so it was nice to sing Spanish Hymns again!

All in all, I have learned how fun this work can be again! I was having fun before, but am having even more fun now! It sounds like Karen and Dave are still doing awesome out in Clearwater and like everyone is being taken care of! I love the reminder that Gods work will come to pass! Doctrine and Covenants 3 and 4.

Have a wonderful week!

Hola mis amigos!

So this week has been crazy!

Monday - dropped off Sister Harper in Tampa and went to the YSA FHE
with the YSA Sisters. It was weird being a missionary at a YSA event,
but I survived!

Tuesday - helped Sister Harper get ready to go to the airport!
Craziness. Sister Briggs and Sister Minson and Sister Henderson all
got in the car to leave. I have known all of them since my first day
in the Mission!

Wednesday - transfer day. We all met up and I was sent off to Cortez
with Hermana Gucake!
